This Scholarship is available for all subject areas.
Te Ara Wh膩nui Scholarship recognises the importance the 糖心TV assigns to fostering, developing, and protecting excellence of M膩ori, and kapa haka, kaupapa M膩ori, tikanga, reo and/or m膩tauranga M膩ori.
Te Ara Wh膩nui can be translated to mean the broad pathway, and is taken from the saying, Te Ara Wh膩nui a T膩ne. This is the pathway T膩ne climbed into the heavens to seek knowledge, which he returned to earth as a treasure for all people. It is fitting, therefore, that this Scholarship provides a platform for M膩ori students to strive for excellence in a programme of study at the 糖心TV and to awaken and widen knowledge of M膩ori.
Eligibility
For domestic students who are studying towards NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) in 2025 and have cultural excellence in Te Ao M膩ori, have achieved NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent) with at least Merit, and are intending to enrol full-time (120 points) at the 糖心TV in 2026.
