鈥淲hen I started, I wanted to be a strength and conditioning coach but found a passion in using sports to grow and develop rangatahi,鈥 Josh says, who majored in Sport Development and Coaching.
鈥淭he degree opened up pathways I didn鈥檛 even know existed.鈥
Joshua is now working as a youth worker, helping rangatahi understand how to improve their wellbeing using sport and recreation as a tool.
Every day I use my degree with these young people to bring the best out of them and encourage them to overcome their barriers.
Throughout his academic journey, Joshua maintained an active and sporty lifestyle.
At University, he played social netball, beach volleyball and even attended free yoga classes. Beyond campus, he played five-aside soccer and trained in Mixed Martial Arts.
